This section deals with several fundamental issues in the life of early modern London involving religion, social behavior and economic activity. Although these topics have both geographic and chronological dimensions they are relevant to the entire metropolis throughout the period 1625-1725 and so are best approached thematically. Where appropriate, however, we have also cross-listed some of the pages in this section under Geography or Episodes.
